In addition to these meetings, there are a number of questionnaires which are used to obtain students' views:
| 1. | A module Feedback Questionnaire a copy of which is used each semester to gather the views of all students on each course on the content and delivery of the modules they have attended. The data is collated and used by Subject Divisions to review and improve module content and delivery. |
| 2. | The University has also developed a University Course Questionnaire. This is used once per year (normally shortly after Easter) to gain feedback on each course as a whole. All students are asked to complete one for their course. |
| 3. | The University has a Feedback on Teaching questionnaire which lecturers are encouraged to use with at least one group of students per year. The feedback from this is the property of the lecturer and is used by him/her to improve their teaching style. Because its use is voluntary and is usually used with only one group, you and the group of students you represent may not be asked to complete one of these. |
It is not always easy (though it is recognised as good practice) for lecturers and Programme Leaders to give feedback to students on the students' feedback to them. Ideally this happens soon after the questionnaire was completed, but in Semester 2 this is usually impractical since examinations occur shortly afterwards. It is good practice for Programme Leaders to include feedback as an agenda item on Course Committee Meetings, even though, in most cases, this will be feedback on the comments from the previous year's cohort of students.
