As well as encouraging informal feedback, there is obviously a place for formal feedback. An important vehicle getting this is the Course Committee Meeting (CCM).

Course Committee Meetings

The purpose of a Course Committee meeting is to receive student views on matters relevant to the smooth operation and development of the course and on facilities provided by the NBS and the University.

First of all, in about week 6 or 7 of each semester, there will be a Course Committee Meeting. Briefly, it is an opportunity for the Course Management to sit down with the Student Representatives and record, formally, how the delivery of the course as a whole and the modules which form part of it, is going. Minutes will be taken and circulated after the meeting. There is also an opportunity to invite staff other than the Course Management to the meeting to discuss specific issues, such as a module matter which has not been resolved informally. However, since lecturers on your course do not normally attend these meetings, it must be agreed as an agenda item so that the Programme Leader can invite the lecturer(s) concerned to the meeting in order to provide a formal response.

The Course Committee Meeting is a formally constituted meeting of the student representatives and the Course Management.
